How to Check your Grades

Indian River Middle School's Grading Policy

Students will receive a numerical grade at the end of each 10 week marking period. Additionally, progress report grades are provided at the 5, 15, 25, and 35 week marks. A grade of 65% is considered passing at Indian River Middle School.

To register for access to the Indian River Central School District SchoolTool Parent Portal, please follow the steps below:

Once you have completed the IRCSD Parent Portal Account Request Form and we have received a signed copy of the IRCSD SchoolTool Parent Portal Acceptable Use Policy (PDF) on file, we will set up your account and you will receive an automated e-mail from SchoolTool confirming your registration and containing your account password. You may now access the IRCSD Parent Portal.


You may access the IRCSD SchoolTool Parent Portal directly by clicking this link: IRCSD Parent Portal. Access to the Parent Portal is also available from the district web site by visiting and choosing the IRCSD Parent Portal quick link to the left, or click on the IRCSD Parent Portal drop-down link under Parents/Students in the navigational array at the top of the page.

Remember, your Parent Portal username is your full email address, and your password will be sent to you via email once we set up your account. You may change your password once you successfully log in.

The new SchoolTool mobile application is now available! Parents and students can now log in to see information about current schedules, assignments, and attendance. Users will also be able to receive push notifications when teachers submit assignment grades.

To get started using the SchoolTool mobile app, you will need the website URL and the Parent Portal username and password provided by IRCSD.

Download and install the SchoolTool mobile application (click on the images below to download from your device's app store).

After installing and opening the SchoolTool mobile app, enter your SchoolTool credentials and click the Log in button.


Log in using the account information provided by your district. The following fields are required:

  • URL: Enter the URL (website) used to access SchoolTool:
  • Username: Enter your SchoolTool username (the email address that you use to access SchoolTool).
  • Password: Enter the password you use to log in to SchoolTool.

Use the “Stay logged in” option if you do not want to enter this information each time you access the app.


Once you've logged onto School Tools, click on your student's name -> click on the "GRADES" tab

  • To view the current marking period/current grades, click on the drop down menu next to "VIEW", and select "Marking Period Average"
  • To check specific grades on tests, assignments, or quizzes, click on the "ASSIGNMENTS" tab. To sort, select the course you want to view from the drop down menu (a zero means the assignment was NOT turned in, a blank spot means the teacher has not yet entered the grade into the system)

Your student also has their own access, and can monitor their progress!

Each and every student at IRMS has their own access to their account on School Tools. The log in process is reviewed with all students, and as the year progresses all students will acquire the knowledge on how to monitor their own progress. We encourage students to be active in their own education and regularly monitor this progress. Homebase is a GREAT time for students to check their grades. Students are able to log on using the following credentials:

USERNAME: firstnamelastname (no spaces, all lower case)

PASSWORD: your student ID number (it's on your schedule!)
