High School Transition

High School Transition

In Middle School, students are growing and changing from children to adolescents. Middle school is the time for students to explore their interests and begin to connect the skills they learn in the classroom with practical uses in both possible careers and everyday life. Today's youth face many challenges, both personally and developmentally, growing up in an increasingly perse, mobile, and 'connected' society. High school is the time where they begin to solidify a sense of self and start to make choices about how they will be productive members in society. Students will begin to have more choice in the classes they take and will be able to gear them based off of their interests. Your child's School Counselor is there to help guide and assist students through this process so that they will be college and career ready as well as competitive in today's ever changing world.
